According to legend, as a young boy, Finn caught the magical Salmon of Knowledge in the River Boyne. While cooking it, he accidentally burned his thumb and instinctively sucked on it. In doing so, he gained the wisdom and knowledge contained within the salmon, becoming one of the wisest figures in Irish mythology.

The Giant’s Causeway

In this tale, Finn constructs the Giant’s Causeway, a remarkable geological formation, as a pathway to confront the Scottish giant Benandonner in a duel. When Benandonner arrives and sees the size of Finn, he retreats in fear, damaging the Causeway in the process.
